I am Gu Yeming, a SO athlete leader in Beijing. I am deeply grieved when heard of Mrs. Shriver’s death.

I was an introverted boy, ____and shy with strangers. Since I first participated in Greece in 2002, my enthusiasm with SO erupted unmanageably, later on basketball, golf and football--- all became my favorites and I _____ my school in a number of competitions.

So sport training and competition brought about a lot of change to me ---- I became physically stronger, more confident and a totally new boy. I acquired valuable friendship in my training and competition and more laughers in my family. I tried hard to win victories and felt my social value. Special Olympics really here fitted me a lot.

I know Special Olympics won’t look like as it is today and these won’t be such changes on me and on many other So athletes, if it were not for the great idea and unremitting effort done lay Mrs. Shriver for SO.

I extend my heartfelt thanks as well as on behalf of other athletes to Mrs. Shriver.

On the years to come I will take as my obligation to engage more people to understand SO, to ____ them to join our movement.

    And I believe this is our best way to cherish our memory of Mrs. Shriver.

各位來賓，各位特奧運動員，大家好：

我是北京的特奧運動員領袖顧業明，得知尤妮絲•甘迺迪•施萊佛夫人離世的消息，我的心情十分沉痛。

我本是一個內向靦腆的小男孩，也不善於與人交往，直到2002年第一次參加了特奧滾球運動，我對特奧的熱情就一發不可收拾，籃球、高爾夫、足球都成為了我的最愛，代表我的學校參加過很多次比賽。

特奧運動給我帶來了很大的轉變，我的身體強壯了，自信心提高了，以往不愛講話的我，現在就像變了一個人，訓練和比賽讓我獲得了珍貴的友誼，我的家庭生活增加了許多歡樂的笑聲，同時也更加和諧；無論學習還是生活，我都“勇敢嘗試，爭取勝利”，我體驗到了自己的社會價值，特奧使我受益匪淺！

我知道，沒有尊敬的尤妮絲•甘迺迪•施萊佛夫人的偉大構想與不懈努力，就沒有今天的特奧！就沒有我以及更多特奧運動員們的驚人變化！

我代表所有的運動員向老夫人表示感謝！

今後，我還要通過自己的努力，使更多的人去認識並瞭解特奧運動，讓更多的人來參與特奧活動，使他們從中領悟特奧精神，我想，這是我的責任，也是對尤妮絲•甘迺迪•施萊佛夫人最深切的緬懷、敬重以及感謝！
