The respected founder of SO, Mrs. Eunice Kennedy Shriver passed away on the morning of Aug.11^th, and left the career that she founded for the benefit of the intellectual disabilities all over the world. However, this great event has been improved by SO UNIFY sports of all the countries, and is led by her thought and proposal stepping into more people’s hearts.

I am convinced for her will of iron, wisdom and spirit since I got to know SO in 2002. During these years, I witnessed the rapid speed of Chinese SO’s development; I witnessed that the children stepped out of their own families and serve for the society by themselves; I witnessed that one child after another defeated the troubles, faced them and challenged profane prejudices. I do remember that I took part in the birthday party with my son for her held by Mr. and Mrs. Bush in White House on the date of July 10^th, 2006, hearing her speech personally. It is because of this lady who founded SO 41 years ago that unnumbered disabilities’ life from the globe have been changed, and contribute to the society in order to be accepted; it is because of SO that many intellectual disabilities are willing to show their gorgeous smiles again, got the courage to face the reverses on the way to success, which is expressed by the love and care from the society ubiquitously. Mrs. Eunice Kennedy Shriver is a respected lady who donated all her lifetime into charity. The great event brought people sports, happiness and dignity, her selflessness and universal love won the esteem with reverence. Although many children have never seen her, the old lady who is covered with silver hair and a benignant look will appear in their dreams, hugging them. Those children will love her ardently; respect her just like their own grandma.

We will work harder although our beloved Mrs. Eunice Kennedy Shriver passed away. We will spread the mission and meaning of SO at full steam. Through her families, society, friends and those who support, love SO, we are all ready to make her dream come true. Thanks a lot, Mrs. Shriver, for leaving the treasure to SO! You will be missed for ever --- Mrs. Shriver. May you rest in peace.

永遠懷念您-------尊敬的甘迺迪施萊佛夫人

尊敬的特奧創始人甘迺迪-施萊佛夫人于2009年8月11日早晨永遠的離開了我們，也離開了她所創建的造福全球智障孩子們的偉大事業，但是這一偉大事業正在世界各國蓬勃發展的特奧運動中卻在她的努力和宣導下，愈發深入人心。

自從2002年踏入特奧這個領域，我就被她的堅毅，智慧，精神所折服，在這些年裡，我見證了中國特奧的迅猛發展，見證了智障孩子們走出家門融入社會成為有用人才，也見證了一個又一個家庭走出困境，勇敢的去面對，去挑戰世俗的偏見。我更記得2006年7月10日我和兒子在白宮參加前美國總統布希夫婦為施萊佛夫人舉行的生日宴會，親臨施萊佛夫人的致詞，正是因為這位慈祥老人在41年前創辦了特殊奧林匹克運動，才改變了全球無數殘疾人的生活，並為全社會真正接受他們而做出了傑出的貢獻。正是因為特奧運動才使得許許多多的智障人士重新露出了燦爛地笑容，並鼓起勇氣，面對困難和挫折，走向成功，並無所不在地體現在社會所表示的愛心和關懷之中。施萊佛夫人就是一位受人尊敬的終身從事慈善事業的偉大女性，她開創了一場世界上最偉大的運動，給人們帶來體育，歡樂和尊嚴，她的無私和博愛精神贏得了世界各國人民的愛戴和敬仰。雖然還有許多智障孩子未曾見過面，但是滿頭白髮，慈眉善目的老夫人卻時常會出現在他們的夢中，向孩子們伸出雙手，並將孩子們緊緊摟在懷裡。孩子們也熱愛她，尊敬她，就像是自己的奶奶。

敬愛的施萊佛夫人雖然離開了我們，但是我們一定會更加努力的工作，努力的去宣傳特奧，通過她的家人和社會，朋友以及支持特奧，熱愛特奧的人士都會努力的去實現施來佛夫人還未完成的願望。感謝您老夫人為特奧留下了寶貴的遺產！我們將永遠永遠的懷念您---尊敬的施萊佛夫人，您安息吧！
