In this episode, I share with you about the world of abilities not disabilities.   I begin by sharing you an interview with my friend, Kyle Erickson.  Kyle, has cerebral parsley, but that doesn't bind him down because his awesome ability is that he enjoys writing songs.  Kyle shares with us about his physical disability and about what his abilities are; his hobby; he then shares with us about his music and the type of music that he likes to write; and finally Kyle shares with us how he inspires people in wheelchairs through his music.  After this, I share with you some anecdotes of some of my friends who have intellectual disabilities, but I share with you their abilities (according to me); but first I review of a youtube video of an incredible story of Patrick Henry Hughes.  Then, I remind you all about the Spread the Word to End the Word campaign which is on 03.03.10 (and year-round as well) and tell you about the importance of respecting all of us with intellectual disabilities! In doing so, I recommend that you all go and watch two brief Special Olympics PSA's (see links below).  Finally, I get to your feedback; I catch up on reading to you some email feedback and play some voice feedback from Fr.    *Technical Notes:  For some strange reason when you subscribe to the podcast, it downloads a ".mov" file, when its suppose to be a .mp3 audio file; If you would like you convert the .mov file to a .mp3 file in iTunes by going to the top menu "Advanced" and then click on "Create MP3 Version."This should be the easiest way to convert the file to a reader audio file; if you use another application to download podcasts, such as Google Reader or others, I’m not sure how you can convert it to a .mp3 file, but hopefully you can still listen as a .mov file.  You may also have to have quicktime installed on your computer.
