Description:
More from the Airport HS Unified Basketball Fundraiser! The AHS Special Olympics Cheerleaders wanted to say they were fans but also the high school students got in on the action! They spelled out Be A Fan and got the crowd chanting "Be a fan! Be a fan!". This school is a great example of how Project UNIFY can work effectively!

Year 2 Begins!
- From: ProjectUNIFYSouthCarolin
-
Description:
Hey Everyone!
We are so excited at Special Olympics South Carolina because we have a great Project UNIFY year planned ahead. Schools statewide are getting involved this year through our Sub-Grant application opportunity and we are pleased to announce that 30 schools have been chosen to participate this year! This is up dramatically from last year, where only 11 participated. Because we have created our Sub-grant application process, we are hoping it will encourage schools and youth to claim ownership over their "End the 'R' Word or Be a fan" campaigns as well as unified activities. So far, we have met with a majority of these schools face-to-face and have been thrilled to see the excitement, not only among the students, but with the teachers and administrators as well.
The following schools will be participating in this year's Project UNIFY:
- Airport High School- West Columbia
- Battery Creek High School- Beaufort
- Beaufort Elementary School- Beaufort
- Bluffton High School- Bluffton
- Columbia High School- Columbia
- Goose Creek Primary School- Goose Creek
- Hannah-Pamplico Elementary- Pamplico
- Hardeeville Elementary- Hardeeville
- Hilton Head Island Early Childhood Center- Hilton Head
- Hilton Head High School- Hilton Head
- Hilton Head Middle School- Hilton Head
- Irmo High School- Irmo
- Irmo Middle School- Irmo
- James Brown Elementary School- Walhalla
- Johnsonville Elementary School- Johnsonville
- Lexington Elementary School- Lexington
- Mauldin Middle School- Simpsonville
- MC Riley Elementary School (2 Programs)- Bluffton
- Oak Grove Elementary School- Lexington
- Okatie Elementary School- Okatie
- Pleasant Hill Middle School- Lexington
- Riverside High School- Greer
- Sandhills Intermediate School- Swansea
- Socastee High School-Myrtle Beach
- Sumter High School- Sumter
- Swansea High School- Swansea
- White Knoll High School- Lexington

Congratulations to all these schools! I will keep everyone posted on what their school projects will look like, along with any pictures or videos. We are looking forward to seeing these programs grow and take initiative within their school communities! Check back for more updates and announcements!
